Where our ball valves are used

Manual ball valves do the everyday isolating work in almost every plant and building: on water, air, oil, gas and chemical lines, on main processes and on the utility and auxiliary lines around them. Below are the services we supply most, with the configuration buyers usually choose.

01

Water & wastewater treatment

Municipal and industrial water plants use hundreds of small isolation valves around filters, dosing systems, pumps and instruments. Corrosion resistance and a reliable shut-off matter more than anything else.

Typical lines

  • Chemical dosing (chlorine, coagulants, pH correction)
  • Filter backwash and drain lines
  • Pump suction and discharge isolation
  • Sampling points and instrument isolation
  • Membrane and RO skid piping

Usual configuration

CF8M stainless body for chlorinated or brackish water; PTFE or RPTFE seats; threaded 2-piece or 3-piece for small lines, Class 150 flanged for pump and header connections.

02

HVAC & building services

Heating, chilled water and plumbing systems in commercial and residential buildings rely on compact quarter-turn valves that installers can open and close by hand.

Typical lines

  • Chilled and hot water circuits
  • Boiler rooms and heat exchanger isolation
  • Domestic water distribution
  • Drain and vent points
  • Fan coil and AHU connections

Usual configuration

CF8 or CF8M stainless 1-piece or 2-piece threaded valves with PTFE seats; thread standard matched to the local market (NPT, or BSPT/Rp).

03

Compressed air & industrial gases

Air and gas networks need tight shut-off and long service life under frequent operation. Ball valves are the standard isolation valve on drops, receivers and dryers.

Typical lines

  • Compressor discharge and receiver isolation
  • Air dryer and filter by-pass
  • Distribution drops to machines
  • Nitrogen and inert gas lines
  • Condensate drains

Usual configuration

2-piece or 3-piece threaded, CF8/CF8M or WCB body, RPTFE seats; 1000 PSI rating covers most plant air systems. Locking levers available on request.

04

Chemical & coal chemical plants

Around the main process equipment, chemical plants run many small lines for dosing, sampling, flushing and drains. Material choice depends on the medium, so we confirm it for each order.

Typical lines

  • Chemical dosing and transfer lines
  • Sampling and analyser connections
  • Flushing, purge and drain points
  • Tank bottom outlets and level gauges
  • Utility water, steam condensate and nitrogen

Usual configuration

CF8M stainless body; PTFE seats for the widest chemical resistance, PEEK where temperature and pressure are higher. 3-piece for lines that need in-line maintenance; Class 150 flanged for tank and header connections.

05

Oil refining, petrochemical & LNG facilities

Refineries, petrochemical complexes and LNG terminals use large numbers of small ball valves on utility, auxiliary and instrument lines around the main process units.

Typical lines

  • Instrument air and instrument isolation
  • Cooling water and fire water auxiliaries
  • Lube oil and seal oil systems
  • Nitrogen purge and utility stations
  • Drains, vents and sample points

Usual configuration

WCB or CF8M body; Class 150 flanged to ASME B16.5 for process connections; high-pressure 3-piece full bore for auxiliary lines up to 2000 PSI; RPTFE or PEEK seats.

06

Power generation

Thermal, hydro and renewable power stations need reliable isolation on the many systems that keep turbines, generators and boilers running.

Typical lines

  • Cooling water and closed cooling circuits
  • Lube oil and control oil auxiliaries
  • Chemical dosing and water treatment for boiler feed
  • Sampling systems and instrument racks
  • Drains and vents

Usual configuration

CF8M or WCB body; 3-piece threaded for serviceable instrument and sampling lines; Class 150 flanged for cooling water; seat chosen against the operating temperature.

07

Food & beverage processing

Breweries, dairies, beverage and food plants use stainless ball valves on water, CIP supply, utilities and many non-product lines where corrosion resistance and cleanliness matter.

Typical lines

  • Process and wash water
  • CIP supply and return utilities
  • Compressed air and CO₂ lines
  • Cooling and glycol circuits
  • Drains and tank outlets

Usual configuration

CF8M stainless body and 316 ball and stem; PTFE seats; threaded 2-piece or 3-piece.

08

Pharmaceutical & fine chemicals

Pharmaceutical and fine chemical plants combine strict material requirements with a large number of utility and support lines.

Typical lines

  • Purified and process water utilities
  • Clean steam condensate and drains
  • Solvent transfer and recovery support lines
  • Nitrogen, air and vacuum lines
  • Sampling points

Usual configuration

CF8M stainless body; PTFE or PEEK seats depending on temperature; 3-piece threaded for easy maintenance.

09

Metallurgy & mining

Steel works, smelters and mines run extensive cooling, lubrication and dust-suppression systems where valves must survive tough surroundings and frequent operation.

Typical lines

  • Cooling water for furnaces, moulds and rolls
  • Lubrication and hydraulic auxiliary lines
  • Dust suppression and spray water
  • Compressed air for tools and controls
  • Process water and drainage

Usual configuration

WCB or CF8M body; Class 150 flanged for cooling water headers; 2-piece and high-pressure 3-piece threaded for auxiliary lines.

10

Pulp & paper

Paper mills use water, steam and chemicals on a large scale, with many small isolation points on paper machines and chemical preparation systems.

Typical lines

  • White water and fresh water lines
  • Chemical preparation and dosing
  • Machine showers and lubrication
  • Condensate and drains
  • Compressed air

Usual configuration

CF8M stainless body for chemical and white-water service; RPTFE seats; 2-piece or 3-piece threaded, Class 150 flanged for larger lines.

11

Machinery & equipment manufacturing

Equipment makers build valves into compressors, pump skids, boilers, washers, filtration units and test benches. For them, a valve must fit the same space and work the same way in every batch.

Typical lines

  • Compressor and pump skids
  • Filtration and water treatment units
  • Boilers, heaters and heat exchanger packages
  • Industrial washers and cleaning machines
  • Test benches and hydraulic auxiliaries

Usual configuration

Specification locked to the approved sample; dimension drawings matched to your design; your brand or neutral marking; 3-piece or high-pressure 3-piece with mounting platform where automation may follow.

12

Agriculture, irrigation & greenhouses

Irrigation systems, greenhouses and livestock farms need durable valves for water and fertiliser lines that are operated by hand every day.

Typical lines

  • Irrigation mains and zone isolation
  • Fertiliser and nutrient dosing
  • Greenhouse heating and misting water
  • Livestock water supply
  • Filter and pump stations

Usual configuration

CF8 or CF8M 1-piece or 2-piece threaded valves with PTFE seats; CF8M where fertilisers or chlorides are present.
